The casting of the first Honor Bell
HONOR BELL FOUNDATION, DENVER, CO
Verdin partnered with The Honor Bell Foundation to add military artifacts of twelve deceased veterans to 2200-degree molten bronze. Verdin then cast a special 1000 pound bell. The Honor Bell was dedicated at Fort Logan National Cemetery, where it will live and toll as a final tribute to veterans.
When was the last time your bells were serviced and checked for safety?
Thousands of churches all over the country have old bells in their towers. While most cast bells last forever, the mechanical parts and supporting equipment becomes worn and fragile. Verdin can help you service, repair, and restore old bells in disrepair.
OUR COMPLETE MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Depending on the use, a complete maintenance service by a Verdin-approved service technician is recommended every 1-2 years. During this service appointment, we evaluate each and every component. If needed, components are replaced or repaired depending on its level of wear, its age, and any preventative maintenance records. New parts are fitted if necessary. In addition, proper lubrication is essential for the mechanical bell-ringing equipment/hardware to swing properly and ensure correct operation. All parts showing signs of wear should be replaced or restored.
OUR SERVICE WARRANTY
All work conducted during the complete maintenance service, and all replacement parts are covered by a service warranty. Contact us for complete details.
Verdin designs, engineers, and manufactures a complete line of replacement bell ringing equipment that supports the bell and improves the playability and tone. Every Verdin bell striker is custom-fit to meet the requirements of stationary or swinging bells and the customer’s unique arrangement of bells.
While most bronze bells last forever, the mechanical parts and supporting equipment of a bell become worn and fragile, and may need to be updated or replaced from time to time. Learn more about what should be checked every year to keep your cast bell investment safely ringing.
To restore your cast bronze bells to their original ringing glory, Verdin craftsmen can provide new bell ringing equipment and hardware, and restore or recast bronze bells to recapture their original beauty and resonance. For bells that are out of tune, Verdin will conduct a detailed acoustical analysis, and bells that are out of tune or out of character with the rest of the instrument can, in most cases, be retuned.
