Position: Production Coordinator

General Job Description

To help manage our growing backlog of new orders, we are creating this new position to support Verdin’s manufacturing and field service operations. This role will be focused primarily on maintaining a smooth and efficient production flow by creating, managing, and distributing accurate work orders to manufacturing personnel. This position will also support our national network of field service technicians by fulfilling part orders and maintaining truck stock inventory.

Specific Job Functions

Create and issue work orders for new projects based on production schedules and promise dates.
Ensure that work orders are comprehensive and consistent with materials and inventory specified by drawings.
Work closely with Director of Purchasing and Inventory Control to ensure materials and resources are available for scheduled jobs.
Review pending projects on factory floor to make sure that manufacturing activity adheres to work order requirements.
Monitor work orders on regular basis and update ERP system to capture materials to reflect current inventory levels
Support continuous improvement in manufacturing by identifying and streamlining inefficiencies in work order process.
Work with liaison between shop floor personnel and drafting/production management teams to answer questions arising during fabrication process.
Process and fulfill basic parts orders from current inventory.
Track and replenish truck stock inventory for field service technicians.
Audit jobs in process on factory floor for quality control and to ensure that fabrication is consistent with drawings/work orders.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, manufacturing, or related field is a plus.
3+ years of experience in manufacturing or production coordination role.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Verdin uses Global Shop) and Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel).
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Positive communication and interpersonal abilities.

Position: Shipping Assistant and Part Time Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to support our shipping department and serve as a part-time driver. This dual-role position will be involved in packaging of finished products, inventory handling, and delivery/pick-up of products from local suppliers and partners. The ideal candidate is organized, punctual, and flexible team player working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping Department Assistant
- Securely package, palletize, and label finished products for shipment to customers across the country.
- Prepare accurate and detailed paperwork to record and track outgoing shipments.
- Ensure that outgoing shipments conform to bills of material and work orders.
- Receive, inspect, and approve incoming deliveries.
- Move stock items to designated areas once properly received.
- Move project-related items to appropriate department once properly received.

Part-Time Driver

Position: Welder/ Fabricator

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Overview:Fabricates/welds raw material to specifications from blueprints to create clock/bell towers, steel and aluminum framework, and clock and bell equipment that is made from tubing, channel, and plates.

Specific Job Functions:

Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications and using, but not limited to hand tools, TIG and/or MIG welders, drills, grinders, saws, and plasma cutter.
Move parts into position manually or by using a hoist, forklift, or cranes
Weld flat surfaces, vertical and overhead when structures are too big to roll over

Job Qualifications:

Ability to read mechanical and structural CAD drawings
Follow design, (CAD) drawings and instructions
Have experience using hand torches, welders, and power saws
Able to MIG/TIG/Aluminum weld
Carry out gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to manufacture items and components for bells and clocks
Cut materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses
Weld or join metal and other materials into a wide range of structures
Basic knowledge of machine tooling (lathe/mill)
Must know crane and jib hoist operations and rigging application
Able to do layout using calipers and scales
Operate tools and machinery and welding equipment
Dismantle and assemble metal structures and equipment

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in welding/fabrication

Position: Clock Fabricator/Assembler

Location: Cincinnati, OH

General Job Description: We have immediate openings for Clock Assemblers to fabricate/produce post clocks and large tower clocks. These clocks are found in city centers, golf courses, universities, and other outdoor areas. The ideal candidate is comfortable using hand tools and takes pride in the work they do every day.

Specific Job Requirements:

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints or sketches related to the creation of large clocks, specifically clock faces and hands from specified material. This material includes cast aluminum, aluminum shapes, metal, cast acrylic, lexan, and other plastics.
Attach hands to time piece and test mechanics to make sure the time piece is keeping correct time.
Fabricate clock casing, attach time piece, clock face and hands according to plans.
Collaborate with design staff and other team members to refine designs and ensure manufacturability.
Measure, cut, shape and assemble materials related to large scale clocks to specified dimensions.
If this is a restoration carefully disassemble existing clock, then replicate any damaged or non-functioning pieces.
Use machine and hand tools to cut and form pieces to required dimensions. Reinforces parts if necessary.
Use hand and bench power tools, torsion wrenches, jigs and assembly fixtures. May use precision measuring devices.
Perform light welding on aluminum shapes and castings.
Maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 5 years of general fabrication experience
Ability to follow through on assignments in a timely manner
Proven experience as a fabricator or similar role
Strong knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques
Experience reading AutoCAD prints
Five or more years of experience with hand tools and general fabrication equipment.
Layout and measuring experience
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and with others.
Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Aluminum welding experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 LB.
