Position: Field Service Technician

Location: Southwest Ohio and nearby Midwest

General Job Description

We have immediate openings for Field Service Technicians to install, service, and maintain our entire portfolio of custom amenity products. Our business is growing, and so is our national network of field service technicians who maintain and service our unique products. After receiving comprehensive training at our facility in Cincinnati, you will start by providing installation and trouble shooting services for customers in SW Ohio and other nearby areas in the Midwest.

High level performers will have the opportunity to take on a dedicated territory with an established customer base that consistently generates an annual income of $100,000+. Verdin has over 50,000 customers across the country. A typical service territory has several hundred customers with annual maintenance contracts that provide a reliable source of income for the field service technician. With a unique opportunity to work independently and make a great living, it is not surprising that the average tenure of a service technician for The Verdin Company is over 16 years.

Specific Job Requirements

Frequent travel required up to 65% travel at peak periods. Candidates should have a flexible schedule and clean driving record.
Work comfortably on ladders (up to 40ft extension ladder), in bell/clock towers, and in boomlifts
Possess basic mechanical and electronic trouble shooting skills; we will train you on the detailed workings of our products, but you should have a knack and a desire for fixing equipment issues.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment utilizing technical manuals, publications, and engineering support.
The Field Service Technician is Verdin’s “face” to the customer and must be able to communicate in an effective, courteous, and professional manner

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
A self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently and think creatively to solve problems.
Basic proficiency with standard computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Internet browsers.
Military experience is welcome.
Minimal Basic Mechanical knowledge
Experience as sound technician, electrician, or fabricator is a plus.

Physical Requirements of Position

Must lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and steps in bell & clock towers.
Able to work in a variety of conditions in an open air environment.
Ability to work in conditions requiring masks.

Position: Clock Fabricator

Location: Cincinnati, OH

General Job Description

Fabricate/produce post clocks and large tower clocks using hand tools.

Specific Job Requirements

Fabricates face and hands of tower clocks from specified material.
Attach hands to time piece and test mechanics to make sure the time piece is keeping correct time.
Fabricate clock casing, attach time piece, clock face and hands according to plans.
If this is a restoration carefully disassemble existing clock, then replicate any damaged or non-functioning pieces.
Uses machine and hand tools to cut and form pieces to required dimensions. Reinforces parts if necessary.
Uses hand and bench power tools, torsion wrenches, jigs and assembly fixtures. May use precision measuring devices.
Maintains a clean, neat and safe work environment.

Job Qualifications

Multi-task and follow through on assignments in a timely manner.
Experience with hand tools and general fabrication equipment.
Detailed oriented.
Work independently and with others.
Able to lift up to 50 LB.
Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
Able to use a computer.

Position: Welder/ Fabricator

Location: Cincinnati, OH

General Job Description

Fabricates/welds raw material to specifications from blueprints to create clock/bell towers, steel and aluminum framework, and clock and bell equipment that is made from tubing, channel, and plates.

Specific Job Requirements

Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications and using, but not limited to hand tools, TIG and/or MIG welders, drills, grinders, saws and plasma cutter.
Move parts into position, manually or by using a hoist, forklift or cranes
Welding flat surfaces, vertical and overhead when structures are too big to roll over

Job Qualifications

Ability to read mechanical and structural CAD drawings
Follow design, (CAD) drawings and instructions
Have experience using hand torches, welders, and power saws
Able to MIG/TIG/Aluminum weld
Carry out gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to manufacture items and components for bells and clocks
Cut materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses
Weld or join metal and other materials into a wide range of structures
Basic knowledge of machine tooling (lathe/mill)
Must know crane and jib hoist operations and rigging application
Able to do layout using calipers and scales
Operate tools and machinery and welding equipment
Dismantle and assemble metal structures and equipment
Clean tools, equipment and work areas
Wear safety clothing and use protective equipment
Work on a construction site or in a workshop

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in welding/fabrication
Ability to read and understand blueprints, including welding diagrams and symbols
Ability to read tape measure and dial caliper
Ability to use hand tools
Experience using power tools like drills, grinders, metal saws, etc.
Required to have a demonstrated understanding of fabrication processes.
Basic knowledge of math and design

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
